Leeds United have shown an interest to sign Chievo Verona striker Caleb Ekuban, according to reports from Ghana Soccer Net.
It was just several days ago since the Peacocks started enquiring for the Ghanaian international, who had an excellent season, scoring 17 goals in 33 appearances for Partizani Tirana. He spent the previous campaign in Albania as a loaned player from Chievo Verona.
This 23-year-old is a target for Leeds United, but it seems that the club from Elland Road have some competition. Apoel Nicosia from Cyprus have recently offered $500,000 to the Italian side for the signature of Ekuban.
This young player went through all youth categories at Chievo Verona, but he initially didn’t manage to leave a bigger mark with the first team. Since 2013, he has been on loans in several clubs, and has finally burst into the scene this season with Partizani.
Leeds United wants to sign Ekuban to add more depth to the striking position and potentially find a quality replacement for star Chris Wood.
