Leeds United reportedly eyeing an ambitious move for 44-year-old manager

Stam

After a surprising decision by Garry Monk, who resigned from the position of manager at Leeds United, the Peacocks have targeted a move for Reading boss Jaap Stam, according the Yorkshire Evening Post.

Once a centre-back of Manchester United, Stam was excellent this season in leading Reading. Under his lead, Reading reached the finals of the promotion playoffs, in which they eventually lost in the penalty shootout.

Stam has done a great job at Madejski Stadium, and the Royals were clearly one of the best teams in the league during the whole year. In the end, they finished with 85 points and were unlucky miss out on promotion.

The former member of the Dutch national selection has everything that one coach needs – authority, football knowledge and above all an enormous passion for winning. This is exactly what Leeds United needs, in order to make this team a Premier League member once again.
