West Ham to reportedly compete with Arsenal for 24-year-old international midfielder

West Ham United have reportedly joined Arsenal and Tottenham in the race to sign Besiktas midfielder Oguzhan Ozyakup.

The Hammers could have an advantage in signing the Turkish international Ozyakup as their manager Slaven Bilic has previously worked with the player at Besiktas.

Ozyakup previously spent four seasons with the Arsenal youth academy and moved to Besiktas after failing to establish himself within the Gunners first team.

During his time with the Young Gunners, Ozyakup helped the team win two Premier League titles as well as the FA Youth Cup in 2009, whilst playing alongside the likes of Jack Wilshire and Francis Coquelin.

He has also played a huge role in Besiktas winning the Turkish Super Lig titles over the past two seasons and scored 5 goals over 29 appearances this past season. It is likely that Ozyakup will leave Besiktas as he looks to challenge himself in England once again.
