Leeds United star reiterates his desire to stay put at Elland Road

Leeds United defender Pontus Jansson has hinted that he will remain at Elland Road next season amid speculation that he could be set to leave.

Jansson initially joined the Whites on a season long loan deal from Italian club Torino last summer with a view to making the deal permanent. However the future of the 26-year-old Jansson become the subject of speculation after reports emerged that Premier League club Southampton were looking to sign him.

Jansson has since appeared to suggest that he is keen to remain at Leeds, saying, “I can only say that I know there is interest. But I really enjoy working in Leeds and they want to keep me.”

The permanent move of Jansson from Torino to Leeds stalled last month after a financial disagreement between the two clubs regarding how the Italian club would receive their payments.

The Serie A side also raised a complaint with Fifa regarding the payment of the £3.5 milion fee.
