According to reports, Newcastle United goalkeeper Matz Sels is moving closer to an exit from the club.
It had been reported that Belgian giants Anderlecht where interested in recruiting the 25-year-old Sels, however it turns out that they have ended their interest and are now focusing on signing Frederik Rønnow from Brondby.
The Belgian international Sels started this past season as first choice keeper for the Magpies but ended up losing his position to Karl Darlow following a high profile error during a 1-1 draw with Aston Villa last year.
Sels has since gained game time for the club during EFL Cup and FA Cup games but it looks unlikely that he will be made first choice anytime soon.
Sels may not be the only keeper to depart from Rafa Benitez’s side as recent reports have suggested that Darlow and Tim Krul may be offloaded as the club looks to sign a new keeper, who could possibly be former Liverpool first choice Pepe Reina.
