Manchester United have reportedly been dealt a transfer blow as they have been informed that Premier League rivals Chelsea are close to capturing the signature of striker Romelu Lukaku.
United boss Jose Mourinho reportedly made Lukaku a priority target after Antoine Griezmann opted to remain at Atletico Madrid and also due to the fact that the future of veteran forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic is uncertain.
As a blow though, Lukaku is now expected to soon join his former club Chelsea in a deal worth to be in the region of £80 million. During his previous stint with the club between 2011 and 2015, he failed to find the back of the net during 15 senior appearances.
With Everton, however, the Belgian has been very successful, having scored at least 20 or more goals during his past three seasons with the club and also firmly establishing himself as one of the best forwards in the Premier League in the process.
