Former England footballer Terry Butcher has said that Celtic captain Scott Brown good enough to play for some of the best teams in England.
This past season, Brown led Celtic to treble winning success as the club completed what was arguably one of their best seasons in history.
Debate over the quality of Brown recently became a debate when Manchester United legend Paul Scholes acknowledged the contributions that Brown made for Celtic but questioned whether he would have had the same level of influence had he been playing for a side in England.
Butcher however disagrees with Scholes and believes that Brown would be able to deliver solid performances for some of the best sides in England, he said, “I think he could. He is an enforcer but also a passer of the ball and if he is given a specific role he has the ability, physically and mentally to cope with that and I think he could still do it now.
“If you look at players in his position in the top-four sides, the top-six sides – you are now looking at the top six or seven in England rather than the top four – he could handle it quite comfortably.”
