Newcastle reportedly in talks with Turkish side over the transfer of 22-year-old striker

According to reports, Newcastle United could soon part ways with striker Aleksandar Mitrovic after the club held talks with Turkish club Besiktas over a possible transfer.

The 22-year-old Mitrovic joined the Magpies from Belgian club Anderlecht during the summer of 2015 and during that season scored nine goals from 34 games in the Premier League as the club were relegated.

During this past season, Mitrovic was disappointing netting only six goals from 29 appearances, which led many fans of the club to believe that the club should part ways with the striker.

It remains uncertain whether Rafa Benitez would want to sell or loan out Mitrovic. Given his age, he may have yet to have developed to full potential.

With Tammy Abraham set to arrive at St James Park on a one year loan deal though, Mitrovic will likely slip further down the pecking order and thus selling may be the best option for both clubs.
