Coming off of four-straight losses, Uruguay has something to prove. Although they are on course to qualify to the 2018 World Cup in Russia, Uruguay’s losses to Peru, Brazil and Chile have Los Charruas wondering how they will bounce back. Their recent disappointing 3-1 loss to the Republic of Ireland has many fans wondering ‘what next?’ .It seems like Uruguay is gearing up for the future. If you followed the South American under-20 Championships since the start of the year, few would be surprised that one of the continent’s best teams in the current World Cup in South Korea is, of course, Uruguay.

Uruguay’s international consistency has been unquestionable. However, they will face an Italian side with five Juventus players involved in the final in Cardiff – Gianluigi Buffon, Andrea Barzagli, Giorgio Chiellini, Leonardo Bonucci and Claudio Marchisio – joined up with the Azzurri squad on Monday.

“A week ago, I asked the Juventus players if I could count on them and they enthusiastically said yes,” Italy manager Gian Piero Ventura said at a press conference.
“Knowing their professionalism, I believe that they will arrive here with a desire to do well.
“I don’t believe that Italian football comes out looking reduced by the defeat of Juventus in Cardiff, 90 minutes can’t cancel out an entire season.”

“We’re taking on a good side (Uruguay) and this will give us the chance to evaluate things from a technical and tactical perspective,” added Ventura.
“Furthermore, we’re proud to have climbed some places in the rankings and a win against Uruguay would be another step forward to put us among the top sides.”
Uruguay will be without Luis Suarez and Edinson Cavani for the match with both forwards struggling with hamstring injuries.

This match could go either way.
