Italian Serie A club Sampdoria are reportedly interested in signing Aston Villa defender Jordan Amavi.
The 23-year-old Amavi arrived at Villa Park from French League 1 club Nice in 2015 after having established himself as one of the most promising young players in France.
While his first new performances were promising, Amavi suffered a major knee injury in November 2015 and his performances for the Villains have been inconsistent since.
In January, Steve Bruce brought in Neil Taylor from Swansea City to be Villas new first choice left back and this has resulted in Amavi dropping down the pecking order at the club, which is sure to have frustrated him.
Sampadoria have reportedly made signing a new right back a priority and are exploring the possibility of recruiting Amavi. A transfer may be best for both parties as it will allow Amavi to play more regularly while it will allow Villa to gain some funds.
