Former Rangers midfielder Alex Rae has revealed that he told manager Pedro Caixinha to add more steel to the squad ahead of next season.
Rae said, “When I went in for the number three job, Pedro asked me my take on things. I felt that right through the spine of the team they needed a wee bit of steel.”
Rae is also delighted with the new signings that Caixinha has made thus far.
He continued, “When you go to Tynecastle, Pittodrie, Celtic Park and Easter Road next season, you have really got to roll your sleeves up and you’ve got to have the personnel that can do that.”
Thus far, the Gers have already signed former Aberdeen captain Ryan Jack, Portugal’s Euro 2016 winning defender Bruno Alves as well as Benfica B midfielder Dalcio.
In addition to this, Rangers are reportedly also eyeing deals for the likes of Carlos Pena, Fabio Cardoso and Eduardo Herrera.
