Everton planning to cool their interest in Ghanaian international

Rahman

According to reports, Everton could be set to cool their interest in signing Chelsea defender Baba Rahman on a loan deal due to the player’s injury issues. The 22-year-old Rahman spent this past season on loan with German Bundesliga club Schalke 04.

The Ghana international’s season was hampered after he suffered a knee injury while on international duty in January and according to reports, Everton are going to pull out of a deal as it has been revealed that the youngster’s return date has been pushed until after the start of pre-season training.

Prior to his unfortunate injury, Rahman was a regular feature for Schalke and notched 21 appearances across all competitions this past season. He also boasts 23 senior appearances for Chelsea since joining the English giants from FC Augsburg in 2015 for £14 million.

It remains to be seen whether Chelsea will opt to send Rahman on loan again ahead of next season or make him challenge for a place in the first team.
