Celtic midfielder Tom Rogic has been hailed by the supporters in his native Australia for his winning goal against Aberdeen in the Scottish Cup final last weekend.
The Australian international is said to have been mobbed by a group of supporters from the Adelaide Celtic supporters club while preparing for World Cup qualifiers with the Australian national team.
Rogic had to miss a large portion of the Hoops treble winning season through an unfortunate injury. However he returned to action in great style last season by coming off the bench to score the winning goal in the Scottish Cup final to compete the treble for Brendan Rodgers’ men.
The playmaker is a key member of the Australia team and is likely to play at the Confederations Cup later this month, where his country have been placed in Group B alongside Cameroon, Chile and World Champions Germany.
Rogic has thus far scored 5 goals from 23 appearances for the Socceroos.
