Radio Yorkshire Football expert Derek Clark has said that former Leeds United boss Garry Monk will join Middlesbrough ahead of next season.
Boro are not looking to appoint Steve Agnew on a permanent basis and have been without a full-time manager since Aitor Karanka was sacked. Gary Monk has been without a job since deciding not to continue as manager of Leeds two weeks ago.
I’m led to believe Garry Monk & James Beattie have agreed to take over at Middlesbrough & should be announced in next few days #LUFC #UTB

Considering that Monk did an impressive job with the Yorkshire club last season, leading them to a seventh place finish on the Championship standings, he will not be short of offers.
Boro Chairperson Steve Gibson may be hopeful of appointing Monk in order to improve his club’s chances of winning Premier League promotion next season.
There is a good chance that this deal could go ahead. Middlesbrough are likely to go with a manager who performed impressively last season and considering that Boro are team that could be able to challenge for promotion, an agreement between the two could be reached.
