Top Arsenal and Tottenham target reportedly informs current club of his desire to leave

Leicester star Riyadh Mahrez has reportedly informed his club that he wishes to leave amid interest from Tottenham and Arsenal.

The Algerian international Mahrez was one of the key players in the Leicester side that shocked world football by winning the English Premier League title during the 2015-16 season.

At the end of last season, Mahrez reportedly informed his club that he would stay on for one more season and was rewarded with a new £100,000-a-week contract at the King Power Stadium.

The 26-year-old is now reportedly keen to move on, given that Leicester are a shadow of the team that they were during their triumphant season and also as he wishes to play for a team that can challenge for trophies.

Arsenal are thought to be interested as they look to lure new players in order to re-establish themselves as a major force in English football. Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino is also said to be monitoring the situation.
