Steve Walsh admits he is looking to influence Ronald Koeman’s transfer decisions

Everton director of football Steve Walsh is trying to convince manager Ronald Koeman regarding certain transfer targets.

Walsh also clarified that players will only be brought to Goodison Park should he and Koeman reach an agreement. The Toffees are expected to shop heavily this summer as they aim to do well in the Europa League next season as well as aim to challenge for a top four finish.

Walsh said, “We’ve got a large team of people working with me and I collate a lot of information from them.

“My department is very well run, very organised and we make sure we get as much information about the player that we possibly can. If we like the player, I’ve got to try to convince Ronald that he’s the player for us.”

The Merseyside club brought in two new players during the January transfer window to add to the four that had been brought last summer.
