Arsenal and Everton battling it out to sign 24-year-old Belgian international

Arsenal and Everton are reportedly battling in the race to sign Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Thorgan Hazard.

Hazard, who is the brother of Chelsea star Eden, has impressed in the German Bundesliga this season, scoring 11 goals and making several assists.

The 24-year-old Hazard’s deal with Monchengladbach lasts until 2019 and it is believed that the Belgian international is keen on a return to England provided he is handed regular first team opportunities.

The prospect of joining either Arsenal or Everton will be appealing to Hazard, considering that it will offer him the prospect of Europa League football.

Hazard joined Chelsea in 2012 along with his brother Eden. However after having failed to establish himself within the first team of the London giants, he moved to Monchengladbach in 2015 for €8 million.

Should Hazard be sold this summer, Monchengladbach will likely receive a figure which is almost four times as much as what they paid for the player.
