Leeds United ex-managing director wants this man to replace Monk

Former Leeds United team managing director David Haigh took to social media site Twitter this weekend to reveal that he feels that Claudio Ranieri is the best man to take over as manager of the Yorkshire club following the departure of Garry Monk.

After guiding Leeds to seventh place in the Championship this season, Monk will not be short of options with Middlesbrough, Norwich City and Crystal Palace all rumored to be interested.

Former Middlesbrough manager Aitor Karanka is rumored to be the favorite to succeed Monk as manager of the Whites, however Ranieri would also not be a bad choice.

The highlight of Ranieri’s managerial career arguably came during the 2015-16 season when he shocked the football world by guiding Leicester City to the Premier League title.

The Italian is also very experienced and the wealth of knowledge and experience at his disposal may be of benefit to the club. However, it is unlikely that he will opt for a club that does not compete in top flight football.
