According to reports, Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is keener on signing Everton star Romelu Lukaku than Real Madrid forward Alvaro Morata.
Conte is looking to bolster his attack as he aims to successfully defend the Premiership title next season. Lukaku is arguably one of the best strikers in world football at the moment, having scored 25 goals from 36 appearances last season.
The Belgian international is now keen on playing Champions League football, which was why he rejected the offer of a new contract with Everton earlier in the season.
Conte’s decision to prioritize Lukaku over Morata will put Manchester United in pole position to complete the signing of the latter. The Red Devils are also looking to bolster their forward options after only veteran Zlatan Ibrahimovic shone this season.
With Madrid also reportedly interested in United goalkeeper David De Gea, there is also a possibility that United may ask Madrid for Morata and cash in exchange for their goalkeeper.
