Celtic star suffers nasty injury blow

According to reports, Celtic star Kieran Tierney is unlikely to appear for the Scotland national team in its upcoming World Cup qualifier against England after suffering a mouth injury during his side’s 2-1 Scottish Cup win against Aberdeen on Saturday.

Bhoys manager Brendan Rodgers has revealed that Tierney may require surgery to correct the damage that had been caused by Jayden Stockley’s arm midway through the first half.

After the tackle, the teenager underwent five minutes of treatment to his mouth before being replaced by Tom Rogic.

When asked about the extent of Tierney’s injuries, Rodgers said, “My initial reaction is that is twice it has happened because KT took a heavy elbow up at Pittodrie when we won 3-1. He was down and out for a while in that game.

“It is a difficult one because that can happen. But for it to happen again…I don’t want to comment too much because I need to see it again. He probably needs an operation. I am just surprised the officials didn’t see it.”

Tierney is one of the best defenders currently in Soctland and there is no doubt that his absence will come as a loss to the team. The 19-year-old must also be gutted by the fact that he will likely not play against the England national team.
