West Ham star Michail Antonio has defended his manager Slaven Bilic after what has been a rather disappointing season for the Hammers.
The East London club will finish the season in mid-table, however there were phases of the season during where they flirted with relegation.
The poor form displayed at times led to Bilic being widely criticized and there was even speculation that West Ham were considering a managerial change.
Despite the poor form, Antonio defended Bilic by telling the Betway Insider, “He’s been hugely influential for me. He’s the manager who brought me to the club, he’s the manager that gave me my first appearance and he’s the manager who has been playing me week-in-week-out.”
Amid inconsistency on the pitch from the Hammers this season, Manuel Lanzini and Antonio have arguably been the two players who have shone for the club. Earlier this month, Antonio also signed a new four year deal at the London Stadium which will delight fans.
