West Ham defender James Collins has claimed that Chelsea captain John Terry offered the Hammers a night out with the Chelsea squad after beating Tottenham.
The Hammers claimed a shock 1-0 win over Spurs earlier this month to virtually end the North London clubs hopes of catching Chelsea at the top of the Premiership standings.
Collins told Betway Insider: “John Terry texted me and said, ‘If you boys beat Tottenham there’s a dinner or a night out on the Chelsea boys.’ so that was nice.”
Chelsea clinched the title after victory over West Brom last Friday while West Ham have had a disappointing season.
Following the controversial departure of Dimitri Payet in January, the club failed to build upon their seventh place finish achieved during the 2015-16 season and flirted with relegation during the current campaign.
They will certainly need to bolster their squad during the summer should they hope to do better next year.
