Celtic youngster Patrick Roberts has revealed that he is happy about his decision to turn down the opportunity to play for England at the under-20 World Cup in order to play for Celtic in the Scottish Cup final.
“It was a massive decision between Celtic and England. But the best decision happened and I’m more than happy to play in the cup final and I can’t wait for it”, said Roberts.
The decision is bound to delight Celtic fans and make Roberts a fan favorite at the club. The 20-year-old, who is on loan from Manchester City, has had an impressive season for the Bhoys. He has scored 9 goals and provided 17 assists from 44 appearances this season.
Celtic fans will certainly be hoping that he can remain with the club for next season, but it remains to be seen whether City manager Pep Guardiola sees the England under-20 international as part of his ambitions for next season.
