According to a report published by the Sunday Mirror, Everton have had a £10 million offer rejected for Sunderland goalkeeper Jordan Pickford.
Following the Black Cats relegation, the 23-year-old is expected to leave the Stadium of Light and in addition to Everton, has been linked with Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal.
Despite Sunderland being relegated, Pickford has been on good form, winning the Sunderland Supporters Association Young Player of the Year Award and gaining a nomination for the PFA Young Player Award which was won by Tottenham’s Dele Alli.
The report did add that the Toffees are expected to come back with an improved offer. Considering that Everton are keen on a goalkeeper considering that Maarten Stekelenburg and Joel Robles have not impressed this season, it is highly likely that they will eventually manage to capture the signature of Pickford.
Taking into account Ronald Koeman’s ability to nurture young talent, the young England international may also favor such a move.
