Newcastle and West Ham are among the clubs that are said to be interested in signing Manchester City veteran Yaya Toure, per The Sun. The 33 year old’s current deal with the Citizens is set to expire at the end of the season and there is no sign that he will be renewing his deal.
Toure was also involved in a dispute with manager Pep Guardiola early in the season, which led to him not playing a part in City’s early games, he may be looking for a fresh challenge as he approaches he end of his career.
It would certainly be a surprise, should either the Hammers or Magpies manage to lure Toure. Though his Premier League experience would be of huge benefit to both sides, his wage demands are likely to put both clubs off.
Should Toure not sign a new deal at City, the likely outcome is that he may join a club in the Chinese Super League, who will be able to afford his wages.
