Doncaster Rovers have completed the signing of Niall Mason from Aston Villa, after the defender impressed on loan with the club, per BBC. Rovers are said to have paid an undisclosed fee to make Mason’s stay at the club permanent.
The 20 year old made 37 appearances this season to help Doncaster win promotion back to League 1. In addition to this, he also has confirmed that he rejected offers from other clubs to remain with The Rovers, with whom he has signed a two year deal.
Mason definitely made a wise decision by choosing to remain at Darren Ferguson’s team. He is seemingly settled at the club and playing with confidence. He is likely to continue to gain regular playing time next season and continue to grow in terms of experience.
His performances over the next two seasons will also determine whether he is good enough to ply his trade in the upper tiers of English football.
