According to reports from Daily Star, West Ham boss Slaven Bilic is interested in signing Jordan Pickford and Jermain Defoe from Sunderland. The Black Cats will play in the Championship next season and Pickford and Defoe will likely find new clubs, as they aim to extend their stays in the Premiership.

The Hammers tried to sign Defoe during the January transfer window, but saw their inquiries denied by Sunderland. Bilic will know that his team have been struggling in front of goal this season and the experience and ability of Defoe could be handy next season. The 34 year old has bagged 14 Premiership goals thus far this season and may be keen to move to East London in order to boost his chances of making the England squad for the 2018 World Cup.

Though Everton are favorites to sign the highly rated Pickford, West Ham are also set to inquire as they aim to find a new quality goalkeeper. Although both deals look like a long shot now, the Summer is long and much can happen over the exciting summer transfer period.
