Leeds United manager Gary Monk has revealed that Charlie Taylor refused to play during the club’s 1-1 draw with Wigan on Sunday.
Monk said, “There’s no sugar-coating this – Charlie refused to play the game. I think he’s been terribly advised…I think he’s been poorly advised all season.”
It is now hard to see Taylor staying at the club beyond this season. It is likely that he will be sold during the summer.
Chris Wood equalized for the Whites from the penalty spot, after Ryan Tunnicliffe put the home side ahead inside 6 minutes. After Leeds failed to win a place in the promotion playoffs, speculation about Taylor’s future has emerged, with reports suggesting that there are Premier League clubs interested in luring him.
The draw meant that Leeds finish the season with 75 points. Though they will be disappointed to have not made the playoffs, they definitely surpassed the expectations that many had of them ahead of this season.
