West Ham are reportedly interested in Lyon’s Rachid Ghezzal, per the Daily Star. The Hammers had a bid rejected for the Algerian last summer, though they may be able to sign him for free during this summer.
They will, however, have to face competition from Monaco and Everton, who are also interested. The 24 year old has made 33 appearances in all competitions for Lyon this season, scoring two goals and notching several assists.
It is likely that he will leave Lyon. However, Monaco, who are currently involved in the semi-finals of the Champions League, will be the favorites to land his signature. For West Ham, they will hope that the lure of playing in the Premier League will appeal to him.
Though Ghezzal is a capable performer, the Hammers need to look at alternative options. It is unlikely that he will turn down European football and hence it is unlikely that they will sign him unless talks with other clubs break down.
