West Ham are reportedly interested in Leicester defender Yohan Benalouane. The 30-year-old, who arrived at the Foxes in 2015, made only four appearances during his clubs Premier League triumph last term which was not enough to gain a Premier League winners medal.
After failing to break into the first team last season, he transferred to Fiorentina on loan during the winter transfer window.
Since the sacking of Claudio Ranieri as manager though, Benalouane has earned more game time at Leicester during the current campaign and played a role in steering the Foxes away from relegation and helping them to the Champions League quarter-finals.
West Ham will definitely need more defensive options in order to bolster their team after what has been a disappointing season for them.
Benalouane’s current deal with Leicester however expires in 2019 and manager Craig Shakespeare looks to be a fan of his, having been handing him regular game time. The Hammers may be better off looking at alternative targets.
