Everton are favorites to sign Sunderland goalkeeper Jordan Pickford ahead of Arsenal. Pickford is one of the best young goalkeepers in England and was a nominee for the PFA Young Player of the year award which was won by Dele Alli.
With Sunderland having been relegated, the 23-year-old will definitely look to extend his stay in the Premiership as he looks to challenge for the England first choice goalkeeping position.
Arsenal were also thought to be keen on recruiting him as they will need a new second choice goalkeeper given that David Ospina is expected to join Fenerbahce during the summer.
Considering that Petr Cech can still play at the highest level, it may be difficult for Pickford to gain regular game time at Arsenal immediately.
However a move to Everton on the other hand could hand him game time as Maarten Stekelenburg and Joel Robles have failed to convince that they can hold down the starting position on a long term basis.
