Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has revealed that Morgan Schneiderlin pushed for his move to Everton to be made possible during the January transfer window.
“We didn’t tell Morgan, ‘We want to sell you’, Morgan asked and said, ‘Please sell me, I want to go and play every game.”Mourinho revealed.
Schneiderlin had become frustrated after dropping down the pecking order at Old Trafford. During the first half of the season, whilst a United player, Schneiderlin made just three appearances. Since arriving at Everton, he has featured more regularly and so far has 12 appearances to his name.
Had Schneiderlin remained at United, he probably would have mainly been used for cover and squad rotation, so the move to Everton was definitely good for his confidence as well as chances of featuring regularly for the France national team as it allows him play on a regular basis.
With Les Bleus also tipped as one of the favorites to lift the 2018 World Cup, he will also be keen to try and be part of the squad.
