According to bookmakers Ladbrokes, West Ham are favorites to sign Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge ahead of Newcastle United.
After dropping down the pecking order at Anfield, Sturridge is expected to leave the club during the summer in search of regular first team football.
There is no doubt that the Hammers are in need of new strikers during the summer. The club has had a disappointing season with both Andy Carroll and Diafra Sakho being inconsistent with their form in front of goal.
Sturridge will be a good signing for the West Ham team. He is a proven goal scorer in the Premier League and also has a lot of experience under his belt.
In addition to this, should Sturridge move, there is definitely a good chance that he will get regular action on the pitch and receive a chance to re-ignite his career. A move is definitely on the cards and the chances are high that West Ham will complete the signing.
