Everton to change transfer plans due to Manchester United’s involvement

According to reports, Everton are looking at alternative defensive options to recruit during the summer after Manchester United entered the race to sign Michael Keane from Burnley.

Among the players that they are monitoring include Hull City’s Harry McGuire. The 23-year-old Keane is a product of the youth development system of Manchester United and left the club permanently to join Burnley in 2015 after failing to break into the first team.

He has blossomed at The Clarets and is now regarded as one of the best defenders in the English Premiership.

Everton will be well aware that United have more financial muscle than them which could allow them to provide a better deal to Burnley as well as Keane himself.

In addition to this, Keane may be tempted to go back to his boyhood club and should a move happen, he will be almost certain to be presented with first team opportunities.
