West Ham could be set to battle it out with Crystal Palace over the signing of Manchester City defender Bacary Sagna.
The 34-year-old’s contract expires at the end of the season, and it is likely that he will not be offered a new deal at the Etihad Stadium as Pep Guardiola looks to do a defensive overhaul at the club ahead of next season.
Sagna has over a decade of experience in the Premier League having moved from French club Auxerre to Arsenal in 2007.
Though he is past his prime, he can still compete at the highest level and may be keen on another season in the Premier League. He was also part of the France squad that lost to Portugal during the final of the European Championships last year.
In the end it will probably come down to which team wants him more. Both sides could certainly benefit from his leadership and defensive qualities.
