Manchester City and Everton make contact with 23-year-old defender

According to reports, both Manchester City and Everton have made contract offers for Schalke defender Sead Kolasinac.

The Bosnia and Herzegovina international’s current contract expires during the summer and with Schalke languishing in 11th position on the Bundesliga standings and struggling to challenge for trophies, he will likely leave the club.

This week reports emerged that the 23-year-old would sign for Arsenal, however the player’s father denied the rumors.

With Bacary Sagna and Pablo Zabaleta expected to leave the Etihad Stadium this summer, Pep Guardiola will be eyeing new defensive recruits and there is no doubt that Kolasinac with be a quality addition to his side. Guardiola would also have seen a lot of Kolasinac during his time managing Bayern Munich.

Everton are also in search for a defender to provide competition for veteran Leighton Baines. AC Milan as well as Arsenal are also reported to be interested in luring Kolasinac.
