Sunderland boss David Moyes has hailed the impressive performances of goalkeeper Jordan Pickford this season and compared his kicking to that of a top midfielder.
Moyes said, “He’s obviously a very big kicker, I thought some of his passes against Watford recently, it was like watching a top midfield player.”
Despite the Black Cats struggling in the League, the 23-year-old has been in solid form so much so that he earned himself a call up to the England squad by Gareth Southgate during the Three Lions most recent matches against Germany and Lithuania as well as a nomination for the PFA Young Player of the Year Award.
The Black Cats will in all probability be relegated this season, despite this Pickford will likely find a new club in the Premier League. He has made 751 passes in the League this season, of which an impressive 261 have been accurate.
