Sunderland midfielder Lee Cattermole is happy about the return of Wahbi Khazri to the side and believes it will add impetus to the struggling side for the final few games of the season.
The 29-year-old said, “We had a couple of changes in the team and that gave everyone a lift. “It was nice to have Wahbi out there with us. He’s a great lad and he’s worked really hard.”
The Black Cats played out to a 2-2 draw with West Ham during a weekend with Khazri scoring one of the teams goals.
With just six games remaining, David Moyes’ team are nine points adrift of safety. Based on the current form of the team, they are likely to be relegated.
At this stage, the best they can do from a neutral perspective is play for the purpose of creating excitement for the fans. The club can also expect to undergo a busy summer in terms of transfers.
