Slaven Bilic speaks about Darren Randolph’s first team future

Despite goalkeeper Darren Randolph gaining widespread criticism for his performance during the Hammers 2-2 draw against Premier League basement club Sunderland on Saturday, manager Slaven Bilic will reportedly stick with him for upcoming matches.

Randolph started the season as second choice, however he claimed the number one role after unconvincing performances from Adrian.

The Hammers would have been hoping to claim three points during Sunderland during the weekend in order to ease relegation worries and especially so, as the Black Cats lie at the bottom of the Premier League standings but failed to do so due to Randolph’s poor performance.

Randolph was criticized after he allowed David Moyes men to score from a corner and also failed to scoop a ball which resulted in the equalizer for Sunderland.

Despite the performance from his first choice goalkeeper on the day, Bilic has indicated that he will not be changing goalkeepers and said, “I don’t like to change goalkeeper on a game-by-game basis. Randolph has been waiting for his chance for a long time and he has done well for us. So you have to stay behind players, especially keepers.”
