Leeds United star Chris Wood has revealed that he idolized Chelsea legend Didier Drogba while growing up.
Wood said in a Q&A with the fans, “Didier Drogba was one of my big heroes growing up.”
Drogba is now approaching the end of his career and seems to be viewing playing the game as more of a hobby having recently signed to represent American second tier club Phoenix Rising FC.
He also added that Lionel Messi as well as Diego Costa are his current favorite players. The Leeds star continued, “Wood has been in superb form this season and is a key reason behind why Leeds have surpassed expectations this season by launching a promotion push.”
The 25-year-old has netted 25 goals in the Championship which have made up around 45% of the total amount of goals scored by his team.
