Everton and West Ham reportedly leading the race to sign Man City star

Everton and West Ham are reportedly two of the clubs that are interested in signing Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany.

Kompany has been hampered by injuries over the last two years and has made just a few appearances this season as a result.

After their defence has been less than impressive this season, Pep Guardiola is also likely to do a defensive overhaul as he attempts to challenge for major silverware next season.

Veteran defenders Bacary Sagna and Pablo Zabaleta are expected to leave the club, having not been given contract extensions and it is likely that a high profile goalkeeper will be brought to the club after Claudio Bravo has not managed to impress at the Etihad Stadium.

Kompany though has been solid whenever fit and it is likely that the club will look to keep him for the near future due to his leadership qualities as well as to ensure a level of continuity at the club.
