West Ham and Chelsea compete to sign 29-year-old England international

Joe Hart

According to reports, West Ham will compete with Everton and Chelsea for the services of England first choice goalkeeper Joe Hart.

After being deemed surplus to requirements by Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola, the 29-year-old opted to join Italian Serie A club Torino on loan early in the season.

However as the Italian club cannot afford to afford his salary demands on a long term basis, he is expected to find a new club during the summer.  With Asmir Begovic set to leave Chelsea during the summer, Hart may be viewed as a backup to Thibaut Courtois.

However as Hart will be looking to keep the England first choice goalkeeping spot, it is unlikely that he will be willing to join a club that cannot offer him regular football.

Hammers manager Slaven Bilic has indicated that he will not be looking for a goalkeeper, though that could change if Hart is made available especially considering that neither he nor current first choice Darren Randolph have been particularly impressive this season.
