Leeds United legend Lucas Radebe has reminded fans why he chose to turn down an offer from Manchester United to remain at the club.
During his career with the Whites, Radebe went on to make 201 League appearances and served as club captain. In addition to this he also captained the South Africa national team.
Radebe admitted that he was well-aware of the strong rivalry that existed between the Yorkshire club and Manchester United and there is no doubt that this must have played a role in his decision to turn down the advances of Sir Alex Ferguson.
Prior to Leeds relegation during the 2003/04 season, Radebe took part in many rivalries between the two sides at both Elland Road as well as Old Trafford.
Fans of the club will certainly be hoping that Gary Monk can guide the side back to the Premier League next season so that the rivalries can be experienced once again.
