According to a report published by Sky Italia, Chelsea are closing in on re-signing Romelu Lukaku from Everton. Lukaku is the Premier League’s top goalscorer with 21 goals and has been on good form this season.
Though Everton will not want to sell him, his current with the club expires at the end of next season and he has indicated that he wishes to leave in order to achieve his dream of playing UEFA Champions League football.
Now Italian journalist Massimo Marianella has made a bold claim through Sky Italia, “I can say Lukaku’s Chelsea move is almost done deal and reports in England claim Alexis Sanchez will also play for Chelsea next season. Many other players could also arrive [at Chelsea].”
Lukaku was a member of Chelsea from 2011 to 2014 but during only ten League appearances for the Blues, he failed to score a goal. During his time at Stamford Bridge, he had successful loan stints with West Brom and Everton before moving to the Toffees permanently in 2014.
