Everton have confirmed that midfielder Tom Cleverley will be joining Premier League rivals Watford permanently at the end of the season.
Cleverley joined Everton from Manchester United on a free transfer in 2015 and notched 42 appearances for the club. However after dropping down the pecking order at the club, he was sent on loan to Watford in January, with the Hornets having an option to make the deal permanent which they have exercised.
The 27 year old has made 8 appearances for Watford during his current spell and had an earlier spell with the club during the 2009/10 season, during which he won the Player of the Season award.
Chief executive of Watford, Scott Duxbury, said, “We’re very pleased to secure Tom’s signature. I believe it’s a sign of our ambition to recruit the highest calibre of player for Watford.
“Tom’s affinity with the club and supporters has been very clear from the moment he returned, and we now look forward to seeing him in a Watford shirt for many years to come.”
