Gerrard, Liverpool legends down Real Madrid

It wasn’t the first time in which Steven Gerrard orchestrated a win over Real Madrid, but Saturday will still a fine day for many to look back on as Liverpool Legends defeat Real Madrid’s legends 4-3 in a match played at Anfield.

Gerrard scored once and created two other goals in the match as the Reds raced out to a 4-0 lead after 78 minutes. In addition to the new academy coach Gerrard, the Reds lineup boasted the likes of Jamie Carragher and Robbie Fowler as well.

Jerzy Dudek and Steve McManaman played for both sides for spells as they both spent time at each club during their playing careers. Fernando Morientes and Luis Figo featured of Los Blancos, with the former scoring one of the three goals that proved to be mere consolation.

Other big names like Roberto Carlos, Clarence Seedorf, and Ian Rush played in the match in what turned out to be about charity and honoring the memory of the late Ronnie “Mr. Liverpool” Moran. It’s always nice to occasionally turn back the clock, and this was a great fun way to do it!
