Ex-Manchester United star sends heartfelt message to former Tottenham striker

Dimitar Berbatov has sent an emotional message to former Tottenham team-mate Robbie Keane after the Republic of Ireland international earned himself an induction into the FAI Hall of Fame.

Keane, who made his international debut in 1998, retired from national team duty last September having bagged 68 goals from 146 matches.

Berbatov stated on his personal Instagram page, “So Robbie Keane, a hall of famer. The best possible partnership. But is there any other partnership that can be compared to this one. What do you think Keano? Are you thinking what I’m thinking? I know you do mate, I know you do.

“Do you remember? You and me on the pitch, making fun of defenders, scoring for fun. You, running for both of us, talking for both of us. I do remember.”

Berbatov and Keane famously helped Spurs clinch fifth place in 2007 after bagging 23 goals between them.  However the following season the duo departed for Manchester United and Liverpool respectively after the North London club finished in eleventh position.
