West Ham send scouts to watch talented Italian attacker

Italian news source Tuttomercatoweb has claimed that West Ham have sent scouts to Italy to monitor the progress of Bologna attacker Simone Verdi as they look to bolster their misfiring team ahead of next season.

The report added that representatives from the East London Club were present on Sunday to watch the winger in action during his team’s victory over Chievo. They would likely have been impressed with his showing as he went on to bag a goal as well as provide an assist.

West Ham have struggled to deliver this season especially in terms of attack with Andy Caroll and Diafra Sakho suffering injury setbacks and Ashley Fletcher and Jonathan Calleri failing to take advantage of opportunities given to them.

Manager Slaven Bilic will be aware that many of his summer signings failed to adapt to life at the London Stadium. With Verdi not a proven player in the Premier League, they may avoid swooping for him unless they fail to recruit their other targets.
