Goal.com have reported that West Ham United have no interest in signing Wayne Rooney from Manchester United. Reports have emerged recently suggesting that the Hammers may consider signing the England captain should he be made available as they look to strengthen their attack.
However it now appears that Rooney will not be joining the East London club as they will not be able to meet his salary demands. The 31 year olds current contract with the Red Devils runs until the summer of 2019 and he earns £300,000 a week.
It remains to be seen whether Rooney has an international future after Gareth Southgate opted not to include him in the Three Lions upcoming matches against Germany and Lithuania despite the player declaring himself fit.
Rooney has also fallen down the pecking order at Manchester United and the last time he played a full game for the club was during its 3-1 loss to Watford in September. Reports have also emerged suggesting he may rejoin his boyhood club Everton.
