The New Zealand national team could have to make do without the services of its star defender Winston Reid after the defender had to limp off during West Ham’s 3-2 defeat against Leicester City. The 28 year old had to leave the field in the 18th minute after suffering a knee injury.
“It doesn’t look good with Winston,” West Ham coach Slaven Bilic said, noting that he will be assessed over the coming days and that the club hope to have him back after the international break.
This means that the All Whites are likely to be without the services of their key defender for their match against Fiji on Tuesday.
They will however still remain confident off a win. The Oceania confederation is arguably the weakest of all World football confederations and one which New Zealand generally dominate. Should Fiji draw or win the match, it will be a major upset.
